All three members sing in Russian, Italian and Roma Gypsy
The Cosmonauts are a world music trio a high-energy blend of Soviet Folk with Italian Chanson and 19th Century Balkan Pop to stir your gypsy senses. With Frankie Curac – accordion, AJ Jensen – Manouche (Gypsy Jazz) acoustic guitar, Andrew Laking – double bass. All three members sing in Russian, Italian and Roma Gypsy, playing songs from Southern and Eastern Europe as well as toe tapping originals. They are a a stable of the Wellington music scene and a well sort after festival group.
Previous festivals include: The Wellington Jazz Festival, Tauranga Arts Festival’s Labour Weekend Celebration, Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival and Festival of Cultures in Palmerston North.
